Imaginationation is a design-led indoor play centre at Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne. Designed by some of Australia's best children's museum and spacial designers. In this space, play and design come together to create a world where children are free to explore and learn while their grown-ups can relax and enjoy our great in-house cafe with delicious food and coffee.
Designed for grown-ups to enjoy
Every detail, from the food and coffee, to the materiality, music and lighting, is designed to make everyone feel good. We know when parents and carers feel comfortable and happy, their energy sets the tone for their kids.
For children, this is more than play. It’s a world of discovery — filled with active, sensory, and imaginative experiences that spark curiosity, build confidence, and encourage growth through incidental play-based learning.
What is play-based learning?
At IMAGINATIONATION, play-based learning is at the heart of everything we do. It’s the idea that children learn best when they’re having fun — exploring, creating, and discovering through play.
Each of our spaces is thoughtfully designed to stir imagination and encourage social, emotional, and physical growth. While kids are climbing, exploring, running, building, painting, or dancing, they’re also developing real-world skills — teamwork, problem-solving, empathy, and self-expression — all without even realising they’re learning.
